Going into Radio Silence

As the Stone Caravan has no phoneline or electricity at the very moment that I can squeeze the best entertainment from an escapade...

Headline: Girl screams at sight of Ex-Mouse and heads from Hills - etc etc

... I will be equipped only with pen, paper and an oil lamp to capture it. There will be a short delay in the news, appropriate to my 19th Century rural lifestyle.

The real downside is that I may not be able to reply to comments, or spend time on friends' journals for days at a time, so if I go quiet, don't panic or assume that I'm ignoring you.

I get the keys in two days time

I have absolutely no idea how cold the caravan might get. I hear my mother had got her needles out and is looking out patterns for wooly hats, socks, draught excluders, nose cosies, etc.

My sister is keeping her well away from the caravan - she's staying only a few miles away. This might be for the best, at least until I have it swept clean of spiders and rodent corpses, but oddly I think she will cope better than most with the reality. She did after all survive a blitz, rationing and 5 years of bathing in a bucket in front of the kitchen fire in a welsh farmhouse.
